Geofence Notifications in Pointr Express®

With v9.1, you can now create geofence-based notifications directly in Pointr Cloud. These notifications trigger automatically when users enter or exit specific zones.

Why it matters

This lets you deliver real-time, personalized messages that boost user engagement, without needing a heavy lift from your dev team.

Light Web Wayfinding Experience

Building on the mobile wayfinding update in v9.0, v9.1 introduces a lighter, more intuitive web wayfinding experience. New features include a progress bar, transition icons, and an animated user avatar, making our Web wayfinding experience smoother, more engaging, and even fun to use.

Why it matters

Visitors get a consistent, cleaner wayfinding experience across both mobile and web, with clearer route summaries and easy-to-follow transition markers.

AWS Federation SSO Support

We’ve expanded our identity provider integrations to include AWS Federation SSO, adding to our existing support for Ping Identity, Azure Entra ID, and OAuth.

Why it matters

This gives enterprise teams more flexibility to securely manage user access, especially for organizations already using AWS infrastructure. We now support all major identity providers for seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) integration, including AWS SSO, Ping Identity, Azure Entra ID, and OAuth.

New Documentation Portal

Our redesigned documentation portal features:

  • AI-powered search that understands plain English queries
  • A cleaner layout for easier navigation
  • Smart recommendations to simplify onboarding

Why it matters

Whether you're a developer, integrator, or end user, finding the right information is now faster and easier, helping you build and deploy with confidence.

What’s Coming: Custom Map Styles by Sector

Soon, you’ll be able to apply tailored map styles based on your venue type, starting with event venues. Key elements like entrances, transportation links, and POIs will appear in the right order with optimized zoom levels for a clearer experience.

Why it matters

These smart defaults help users navigate complex spaces more easily, while saving your team time during setup. Want to see how we use UX testing to shape smarter maps? Read the blog.
