Amanda Brown
Interactive maps have become an essential part of the modern event experience. As venues grow larger and attendees expect more personalized, connected experiences, organizers need navigation that's fully integrated into their event app, not an afterthought.
That's why the Eventbase and Pointr partnership continues to evolve. With Eventbase now fully integrated with Pointr v9, event organizers benefit from faster map creation, enhanced wayfinding, deeper app integrations and richer analytics. Looking ahead, the roadmap for Pointr v10 will introduce even more immersive and personalized navigation experiences.
Available Today with Pointr v9
Faster Map Creation with MapScale®

One of the biggest advancements in Pointr v9 is the latest evolution of MapScale®, Pointr's AI-powered map digitization technology.
MapScale® dramatically improves the efficiency of transforming venue floor plans into interactive digital maps, reducing the time required to prepare event maps while making updates faster throughout the planning process. Whether building maps for a convention center, hotel, or multi-venue campus, organizers can launch interactive maps more quickly and respond to venue changes with greater agility.
The result is faster deployments, less manual work and more time focused on delivering exceptional attendee experiences.
Hybrid Static & Dynamic Wayfinding
Pointr v9 introduces hybrid wayfinding, allowing attendees to navigate seamlessly between static and dynamic wayfinding determined by the coverage area of the BLE.
Whether visitors are walking between convention halls, nearby hotels, registration areas, outdoor activations, or connected campuses, navigation continues without interruption. Instead of switching between different mapping experiences, attendees receive one continuous route from their current location to their destination.
Navigation Embedded Throughout the Event App
|
|
Navigation is most valuable when it's available exactly where attendees need it.
Rather than requiring users to open a separate map screen, Pointr is integrated throughout the Eventbase experience, making locations accessible across multiple areas of the app.
Current integrations include:
-
Interactive venue maps
-
Session pages featuring embedded mini maps that display session locations
-
Schedule pages that allow attendees to quickly view where their next session is taking place
-
Connected navigation experiences across the event app
By surfacing location information throughout the attendee journey, finding the next session, meeting room, or point of interest becomes faster and more intuitive.
Event Specific Branding & Customization

Every event is unique and the map experience should reflect that.
Pointr supports custom icons and branded points of interest, allowing organizers to tailor the visual experience to match their event identity. Whether highlighting sponsors, exhibitor categories, amenities, or premium experiences, organizers have greater flexibility to create maps that are both functional and on-brand.
Actionable Analytics

Interactive maps generate valuable insights into how attendees move throughout an event.
When analytics are enabled, organizers can better understand navigation usage, search behavior, popular destinations, and overall engagement with the mapping experience. This data helps event teams optimize layouts, identify attendee trends, and improve future events.
Managing Maps in Real Time with Pointr CMS
Behind every great navigation experience is a flexible way to manage and update maps.
With Pointr’s CMS, event teams can manage interactive maps, points of interest, and location details from a centralized platform without requiring coding or app rebuilds. Through an intuitive interface, organizers can make updates quickly and keep their mapping experience accurate throughout the entire event lifecycle.
Pointr CMS also supports automatic updates, helping ensure changes are reflected seamlessly across the attendee experience. Whether updating session locations, exhibitor information, points of interest, or responding to last-minute venue adjustments, teams can keep maps current without relying on development resources.
By giving event teams direct control over their maps, Pointr CMS makes it easier to adapt to changing event needs while ensuring attendees always have access to the most accurate navigation information.
Coming Soon with Pointr v10
Innovation doesn't stop with today's capabilities. The next generation of Eventbase and Pointr experiences is already on the horizon.
Persona-Based Maps

Pointr v10 will introduce persona-based maps, enabling organizers to deliver customized navigation experiences for staff, exhibitors and attendees.
For example:
-
Attendees can see sessions, exhibitors, food and beverage, and amenities.
-
Exhibitors can prioritize loading docks, exhibitor services, and operational areas.
-
Staff can see back of house areas not accessible to the public.
By tailoring map content to each audience, events can deliver a simpler, more relevant navigation experience for every visitor.
Immersive 3D Outdoor Rendering

Also coming with Pointr v10 is support for highly detailed 3D outdoor environments.
Large convention campuses, destination venues, and connected districts will be able to display realistic building models and outdoor landmarks, making it easier for attendees to orient themselves before they even step inside. Combined with indoor blue-dot navigation, this creates a seamless end-to-end navigation experience across an entire event destination.
Continuing to Raise the Standard for Event Navigation
The Eventbase and Pointr partnership continues to push event mapping beyond static floor plans.
With Pointr v9, organizers can deliver faster map creation, hybrid static and dynamic navigation, embedded wayfinding throughout the Eventbase app, flexible analytics, and greater branding opportunities. Looking ahead, Pointr v10 will build on this foundation with personalized map experiences and immersive 3D environments designed for the next generation of events.
Together, Eventbase and Pointr are helping organizers create more connected, intuitive, and engaging experiences from arrival to departure.
