More Agile Releases
As Pointr continues to grow, we’re supporting more customers, more environments, and more use cases than ever before.
To help us move faster and respond more quickly to customer needs, we’re continuing our shift toward smaller, more agile releases.
This means:
-
More frequent updates
-
Smaller, more focused improvements
-
Faster access to new capabilities
Rather than waiting for larger upgrades, customers can now benefit from continuous improvements throughout the year.
New MapScale® Model Galileo
One of the biggest highlights this month is Galileo, the latest model for MapScale®, our AI mapping engine.
Galileo is designed to convert floor plans into accurate digital maps faster and at a greater scale. It has been trained on over 5 billion square feet of data, curated from more than 12,000 floor plans.
This release improves two key areas:
-
Better Unit Classification: More accurate understanding of what a space is — such as office, meeting room, retail unit, or restroom.
-
Better Unit Identification: Improved recognition of names, labels, and IDs directly from floor plans.
We’ve also improved automated CAD cleanup to reduce noisy source data and create cleaner outputs with less manual work.
Richer POI Data for Agentic AI
We’ve also improved the data returned through our MCP Server for AI integrations.
Responses can now include:
-
Description
-
Keywords
-
Opening hours
-
POI level
-
Building name
This gives AI assistants more context when handling queries such as:
-
Is there a Turkish restaurant open until midnight?
-
Where can I eat vegan food?
-
Which café is on Level 3?
Overall, this helps make AI-driven map experiences more useful and more accurate.
Easier Content Editing in Pointr Cloud
We’ve introduced several improvements to make map editing faster and easier inside Pointr Cloud.
-
Show Blueprint While Editing: View the original floorplan directly while placing or adjusting objects.
-
Copy, Paste & Clone Objects: Quickly duplicate POIs, walls, furniture, and other map objects.
-
Multi-Object Editing: Select multiple objects at once and make changes in one action.
-
Faster Default Level Setup: Right-click on any level to choose the floor shown when a map first opens.
These updates are designed to reduce repetitive work and improve day-to-day workflows for map teams.
POI Snapshots via API
POI Snapshots allow developers to generate and display a visual preview of a destination inside their own apps through the Mobile and Web SDKs.
Snapshots help users quickly understand where a destination is before they start navigating.
They can also include distance to nearby key locations such as entrances or exits.
Smarter, Location-Aware Search for Mobile
We’ve improved mobile search to make results more relevant in real time.
Updates include:
-
Estimated journey time shown for top results
-
Smarter ranking based on live user location
-
Better matching using richer metadata and tags
This helps users find the most useful destination faster.
New Language Support: Hungarian
Hungarian has now been added as a supported language.
With this release, Pointr now supports 18 UI language variations in total, helping customers deliver more localised experiences across global markets.
Improved React Native Support
We’ve introduced a new single-line <PTRMapWidget /> component, making React Native integration simpler and more declarative.
Developers can now add maps with less setup and less code.
We’ve also added new SDK and API classes, along with improved React Hook support.
Analytics Improvements
Several analytics upgrades were also included in this release.
-
Mobile SDK: Pass custom launch parameters into analytics to track campaigns, entry points, devices, personas, and more.
-
Web SDK: Choose which query parameters are captured from deep links.
-
Better Journey Tracking: Track when navigation is cancelled or when travel mode changes.
These updates provide clearer visibility into how users discover and interact with map experiences.
Coming Soon
We also shared a preview of upcoming features, including:
-
Simpler taxonomy structure (main types + sub-types)
-
Pointr Maps for Epic MyChart
-
Sponsored POIs
More to come soon.
