This month’s Demo Day introduced new ways to highlight destinations, monitor beacon health, and edit maps more efficiently in Pointr Cloud.

Featured POIs help teams give selected destinations more visibility across the map, search results, and Quick Access.
A new Feature toggle in Pointr Cloud lets teams promote a POI and upload a custom logo to replace its standard map icon. Featured destinations appear at the top of their Quick Access category and are prioritised in search when relevant to the user’s query.
This could help a retailer highlight an anchor store, an event venue promote a sponsored booth, or a hospital make an important department easier to find.
POIs can also include richer, structured information such as cuisine, dietary requirements, wheelchair access, Wi-Fi, and service type. Pointr Cloud suggests suitable fields based on the type of destination, making information easier to add and more consistent.
This structured data improves search relevance today while providing a foundation for future AI-powered and agentic search experiences.
New quick actions will also allow users to share a POI through a URL, save it as a favourite, or bookmark it for later. For example, a visitor could receive a link to the correct entrance, while an event attendee could bookmark a session they want to join.
Crowdsourced Beacon Monitoring uses anonymous observations from devices running the Pointr Mobile SDK to help operations teams understand the health of their beacon network.
The system compares three signals:
If devices are active near a beacon’s registered location but the beacon is not detected, this may indicate a problem.
Each beacon is assigned one of four statuses:
Your team can filter for silent or misplaced beacons and jump directly to their locations on the map, making it easier to identify where maintenance may be needed.
Health scores are calculated independently for each site, building, and level:
Data is evaluated nightly, so new deployments need time to collect enough observations. The system does not directly measure battery level or physical hardware condition.
From Pointr Cloud v10.11, beacon health data is also available through an API, allowing teams to bring a site-level snapshot into their existing maintenance dashboards.
New geometry tools in Pointr Cloud make it easier to create and adjust map features accurately.
Snap indicators help editors align geometries to corners, edges, and 90-degree angles. Irregular shapes can be corrected using Straighten, while the new Transform controls support rotation and scaling with precise degree and percentage values.

Satellite view provides real-world imagery that helps teams georeference buildings and check the alignment of outdoor routes.
For indoor editing, a new blueprint opacity control makes it easier to compare map geometries with the original floor plan. Editors can adjust the blueprint visibility while matching rooms, walls, and furniture.
